Baolong management along with experts from its subsidiary Shanghai Baolong Intelligent Sensing Robotics Co., Ltd, visited the Humanoid Robotics Research Institute of USTC (University of Science and Technology of China) in Hefei on April 16th. The two sides communicated about technical innovation and industrialization of robotics, reaching multiple consensuses and laying a solid foundation for subsequent cooperation.
During the visit, Baolong team and the experts of Robotics Research Institute of USTC had in-depth discussions on topics of technical development, results transformation, and talent cultivation of robot sensors. The two sides reached a preliminary consensus on building an innovative ecosystem focusing on “joint talent cultivation, joint technology research, and joint platform construction”. Based on USTC's top scientific research strength in areas such as robotic dexterous hands, embodied intelligence, and motion control, and Baolong's over 20 years of extensive experience in automotive sensors, intelligent sensing technology, and industrialised manufacturing, the two sides will gradually carry out cooperation according to project status, focusing on key robotics sensor technology development and industrialisation, overcoming major technical bottlenecks, and promoting the breakthrough and practical application of core intelligent robotics technologies.
Baolong also took this opportunity to officially announced its expansion to embodied intelligence. It will mainly focus on robot sensors. As a “hidden champion” in automotive sensors, Baolong has a solid technical foundation in intelligent sensors and has developed several core products for robots, including electromagnetic encoders, inductive encoders, joint modules, six-axis force sensors, stereo cameras, monocular cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. Among these, the inductive encoders can meet sub-millimetre level positioning requirements for industrial robots, and the cameras can be wildly used for robots. Several products have got customer nominations, and some are undergoing sample verification.
In the future, Baolong will leverage its technological expertise in automotive sensors, automotive-grade quality control, large-scale manufacturing capabilities, system integration experience, and collaborative layout abilities, in conjunction with the scientific advantages of USTC, to develop core technologies of robotic sensors, and inject new momentum into the embodied intelligence industry.
