Baolong Celebrated Grand Opening of Its European Development and Manufacturing Platform in Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary

On 11th September, 2023, Baolong celebrated the grand opening of its new European Development and Manufacturing Platform in Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary with local and international guests such as the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, member of the Hungarian Parliament, valued partners from HIPA (Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency), valued customers from China and Europe, valued suppliers, valued partners and valued employees from China and Europe.

Baolong intends to support its global automotive customers in the main geographical regions offering local development and manufacturing for local customer demands. The local-for-local-strategy improves the security of supply and helps managing shortages caused by pandemic spreads or other market turbulences.

The completed construction phase in Szigetszentmiklós will focus on automotive sensors, custom cable solutions and smart busbar solutions for hybrid and electrical vehicles produced in Europe. The new facility will also be used to produce and export automotive sensors to North American market.

The completion of this important milestone provides production capacity of 7,500 sqm, office space of 2,160 sqm, storage area of 1,600 sqm and 2.425 sqm solar panels. The installed photovoltaic panels will provide the electric power covering up to 50% of the current power consumption needs, and this ratio can be further scaled to support our CO2 reduction plan.

Baolong made an additional investment earlier this year acquiring additional 44.000 sqm building land directly connected to the already owned 28.000 sqm sized plot (total > 72.000 sqm). The extension of construction space has become necessary to enable additional Business Divisions expanding its production capabilities in Europe meeting the European future customer demand.
